FOAM & DUST SUPPRESSION
FOAM & DUST SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
The majority of dust in a quarry is created during both the extraction and crushing processes. Dependent upon the nature of the mineral, moisture content and particle sizes – dust is released into the environment during conveying, screening, stacking and loading operations.
IIn order to prevent dust particles from becoming airborne Foam is introduced in controlled measures, directly into the crushers, immediately prior to crushing, ensuring the material is fully coated in Foam. As the mineral / aggregate is crushed – new faces are exposed and dust particles are released. The dust particles collide with the Foam bubbles piercing them thus releasing the moisture held therein. The result being the dust particles become thoroughly wet, increase in weight causing them to fall back on to the main body of the material. The wet dust particles continue their journey to the storage bins without becoming airborne.
